Church visits during September and October

Volunteers visited 22 churches during September and October, sharing the gospel and offering counselling and HIAV/AIDS testing.

In total 2,163 people were tested with 22 positive for HIV. Over ninety per cent became members of Grace & Light and joined a life sharing group within their congregation. One hundred and thirty five made a Christian commitment for the first time, while another 262 re-dedicated their lives to Christ.

International coordinator Tassie Ghata said, “During our visit to COCIN Anguldi in October one of the people who tested positive was a Muslim woman.

“A relative had brought her to the service because she was ill. She accepted Christ and chose to be open with her family.

“We are sad she died a week later, but also excited she met with Christ and is now in eternity with him.”

This church is in Jos and is one our Jos volunteer team used to visit annually, but we hadn’t been back in the last four years. In that time four members had developed HIV. This for us highlights we need to return to each church at least once a year.”
