Church visits in July

Church visits during July

August 2013

Our new volunteer teams are visiting churches in Kogi state following their training in late July.

During July volunteer teams from Anyigba and Bassa, as well as Anyka, visited six churches testing 587 people.

Just three people were positive and 93 per cent chose to become Grace & Light members and join a life sharing group.

Churches visited were COCIN Mper Tulu, COCIN Changufun Mangu, Holy Christian Ministry Church Ankpa, New Creation Church Ankpa, ECWA Aguma, and CMML Church Igala.

Five volunteer teams have been caught up in the state of emergency declared in response to Boko Haram activities and have not been able to travel.

Please pray for the safety of their team members and for people in life sharing groups that they will continue to receive the support they need.

“As soon as we are able to travel to the area we plan to do a monitoring visit so we can encourage our volunteers and members,” said Tassie.

Two other activities during July were a workshop for members living positive, held at the head office in Jos, and a presentation during a singles evening for members of ECWA Rahol Kanang.

“At the singles evening we spoke on the scourge of youth living with HIV, while for our members the topic was forgiveness, something they were all struggling with. It was good to see our members letting go of their hurts towards spouses and relatives,” said Tassie.
