Building for the future

Life as a small charity is not easy, especially when we have big vision.

We had been praying that God would somehow provide when out of the blue a bequest from a supporter, Gladys Williamson, gave us just what we needed to take the charity shop project a step forward.

This unexpected gift in July enabled us to finish the roof and put in doors and window bars for security. We are now trusting God that the income from the sale of the Bookaid books will mean we will be able to pay for the next stages, flooring, electrics, plumbing and interior finishing. Then we will have a shop!

There are two units, one which will be used as a shop and the other as extra office space. Our current office is located in the only other building on the HQ site, a staff house.

One other prayer request is that we would be able to use electricity from the high-tension line which crosses our property. It is hard to look up at the power line and not get any benefit. Even though mains power is very unreliable, at least if we could put in a transformer we could make use of it when it was on. Pray that we will be able to get a transformer and permission to install it.
